Photoshoot Evidence - 19/12/15

Whilst composing our photoshoot for our magazine advert and digipak ancillary tasks, we decided to film what we are doing with settting up the shoot, doing the shoot and packing up at the end which shows a sense of realism with actually being there. We used a handheld sony camcorder provided by our sixth form, and I, myself filmed the proceedings whilst the rest of the group were in the middle of doing the shoot, after I stopped filming I then went back to help too. This of course helps us with looking more proffessional by showing a 'behind the scenes' and overall proves we did the shoot with equipment we gained ourselves. It was fun to do!

Above is a slideshow of a select few images portraying us as a group setting up and in the midst of our photoshoot for our magazine advert and digipak. The images were taken by myself on an iPhone 5S, just summing up our shoot in a much more simpler way, supporting the video evidence on the left. This yet again makes our production process as a whole look more proffessional and shows how we grabbed the vital equipment needed and set it up ourselves.

Final Photos Used

Above is both the video/photo evidence from our photoshoot which was taken by myself  as well as a few of the photos that were taken on the day. A photoshoot was constructed to take the photos that we would use for our ancillary tasks. The camera we used to take the photos was a Canon EOS 10D Digital SLR Camera, which was very handy as it took high quality images, exactly what we need to produce top level successful magazine adverts and digipaks. We ensured each member of the group were wearing the same costume for the music video itself in order to keep continuity in place. This therefore allows us to make each costume part of the members iconography, and so the audience can associate the costumes with the person (Uses & Gratifications - Personal Relationships).

To make sure that the background was as white as possible Jonny suggested that we stuck white sheets of paper to the board using tape behind where I was positioning my group members to take their photos. This will make it easier to edit out the background using Affinity Photo, a photo editing software on Jonny's MacBook Pro. I took close-up shots for the front on the digipak as it is conventional for the pop genre as it highlights them as the artist and boy band (Dyer’s ‘Star’ Theory). Jonny then captured mid-shots for the inside left of the digipak and the photo on the magazine advertisement. This will suggest that the group has  team cohesion, whilst revealing their separate outfits which all appeal to the specific value of youthfulness and matching genderly values (Goodwin’s common values).

Overall, all photos match our genre of pop and hopefully will create our work as successful as they can be.
